FERROUS SULPHATE 19%

FERROUS SULPHATE 19%

Ferrous Sulphate Heptahydrate is a Micronutrient fertilizer. It is a blue-green crystalline powder. It is commonly called iron sulfate or green vitriol. Ferrous Sulphate Heptahydrate can also be prepared by reacting iron with sulphuric acid. It removes the deficiency of iron micronutrients in plants.

Plants use a variety of iron absorption processes to absorb iron in its oxidised states. One of these is the chelation mechanism. The plant releases compounds called siderophore, which bind iron and enhance its solubility. This mechanism also involves bacteria. Another mechanism involves releasing protons and reductions by the plant roots to lower pH levels in the root zone. The result is increased iron solubility.
